Opportunity for Regional Center Vendors to Apply for HCBS Compliance Activities Funding
To allow more time for the development and completion of these proposals, Department of Developmental Services is extending the deadline, until October 30, 2016, for service providers to submit proposals to regional centers. Next week, the Department will update its website with this revised timeline. The information received with these proposals regarding strategies to address needed changes will be very important as we move forward.
OPPORTUNITY FOR REGIONAL CENTER VENDORS TO APPLY FOR HCBS COMPLIANCE ACTIVITIES FUNDING
The 2016 Budget Act (SB 826, Chapter 23, Statutes of 2016) contains $15 million to help fund changes necessary for regional center service providers to come into compliance with the HCBS rules. The letter and accompanying enclosures and instructions sent to regional centers are available at the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) website http://w.ww.ddsca.gov/HCBS/.
- By October 1, 2016: Completed vendor compliance evaluation (Enclosure B) and concept proposal (Enclosure C) must be submitted to Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) Community Services Department, Attention: Karen Shuttleworth.
- By November 30, 2016: RCEB must submit all completed concept proposals and evaluations to DDS, along with any funding recommendations and the basis for the recommendations. DDS may request additional information from providers or regional centers, as necessary.
- By February 2017: DDS will notify regional centers of the concept proposals selected for funding and the additional information that will be required from vendors in order to receive final project approval.
- By April 30, 2017: Any additional information required from vendors must be received to receive final project approval.
