As we have discussed over the course of the last year, RCEB will be working with a consultant to hold listening sessions to understand the experience of our providers especially focused on black providers and providers from other communities of color. We are committed to hearing about concerns and solutions that will allow us to create respectful and transparent partnerships in our community. Access to services and supports that meet the unique ethnic and cultural needs of the people we serve and their families is critical. As a service provider, you play an essential role in how people are served.

Today you are receiving a survey that will be the basis for our consultant to reach out to providers who are interested in participating in focus groups and listening sessions. Your responses to the survey will be used to identify participants for the sessions. Your answers to the survey will be kept separate from all other vendor information that we maintain at RCEB. All of the sessions held will be conducted without RCEB staff present and those will also be confidential. Reports will be shared with RCEB and the community with the intention of taking action on identified concerns to improve both our service provider’s experiences and ultimately the services available to consumers.

Below is the link to a short survey that will allow RCEB to gauge interest in beginning these conversations and how they will take place. Again please know that ALL information collected will be CONFIDENTIAL and separate from provider files and records. The purpose of this survey is to collect information solely for the purposes of engaging in these focus group/listening sessions and to communicate updates regarding the time and location of meetings. Only one survey should be submitted per provider.

Please complete and submit this survey as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the content of this survey, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. I encourage your participation so RCEB can continue learning and growing in how we can best provide for the evolving needs of our community.

Thank you for all of your hard work and commitment to the lives of people with developmental disabilities in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

In partnership,

Lisa Kleinbub
