Family

Are there things you wish you knew when you first learned about regional centers or Early Start?  The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) wants to hear from you!

Your thoughts and experiences will help DDS create two new standardized information packets that will be given to anyone interested in learning more about California’s regional center system or Early Start services. “Standardized” means all 21 regional centers will be sharing the same two packets.  The information packets will be available in various languages.

DDS has contracted with the USC University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (USC UCEDD CHLA) to develop these packets.  Before they can create the packets, USC UCEDD-CHLA is asking families to share what information they’d like to see included. There are two ways to do this:

The online surveys and focus groups are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and ASL.

For questions on this process, online surveys or the focus groups, please contact Fran Goldfarb, USC UCEDD CHLA, at (323) 361-3831, or by email, at fgoldfarb@chla.usc.edu.
